I have long admired the first of Mme. Kabaivanska's two studio recordings of "Madama Butterfly" with Ugo Rapalo conducting. Is there any possibility that it will soon be released on CD or made available for digital download? I wonder who owns the rights to the recording and why they are not rushing to release this most perfectly sung Cio-Cio-San? Mme. Kabaivanska's interpretation is the only recorded one that convincingly portrays the young heroine of the first Act and the more mature one of the last! This is a wonderful recording that seems to have regrettably been forgotten.
